MT Town Made the Top 10 Best Small Towns in the USA
America's packed with small towns, but which ones really stand out? There's just something magnetic about that small-town charm—it pulls you in. Maybe it's the mom-and-pop shops where folks know your name, or maybe it's that slower pace of life we all secretly crave in today's chaos. Whatever the reason, one thing's clear: small towns have a way of stealing hearts and sticking with you long after you leave.
Where Are the Best Small Towns in America?
USA Today 10Best just released its annual list of the best small towns in the country—and, to no surprise for those of us who call Big Sky Country home, a Montana town made the cut!
Each town on the list has a population under 25,000, but what they lack in size they more than make up for in charm. So let's take a look at the 10 Best Small Towns in America...
#10 MOAB, UTAH
I am honestly shocked that this destination is not ranked higher on the list. Moab is an adventure lover's paradise, featuring both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks as some of its main attractions. Of course the food scene in Moab is fantastic, with diners, food trucks, and breathtaking views that serve as the perfect backdrop to any meal.
#9 JACKSON, WYOMING
Visit the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, explore the Grand Tetons, or use Jackson Hole, Wyoming, as your basecamp for unlimited outdoor adventures. This destination definitely earns its spot on the list.
#8 BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO
Known for having some of the best ski slopes in the country, 'Breck' easily takes the win for being in the top 10. It was originally a mining town, but today it has tons of breweries, outdoor recreation year round, and an over all great vibe if you get to visit.
#7 BIGFORK, MONTANA
Bigfork sits right on the edge of Flathead Lake and brings together Montana's wild beauty with a cozy small-town vibe. It's got a strong arts scene for a town its size, including the famous Bigfork Summer Playhouse. If you're into hiking, the nearby Jewel Basin is a must. And when you're hungry, you'll find great spots to eat by the water, plus local brews.
#6 SEDONA, ARIZONA
Known for many things, including its vortex sites, which are believed to be swirling centers of energy, and its stunning red rocks, this town is undoubtedly a destination for outdoor lovers.
#5 GRANTS, NEW MEXICO
Grants, New Mexico is a quirky little town with easy access to some pretty unique adventures. After snapping a pic with the iconic Route 66 sign, you can explore the lava flows at El Malpais National Monument or grab a drink at Junkyard on 66 Brewery.
#4 CODY, WYOMING
Cody, Wyoming, named after Buffalo Bill himself (Colonel William Frederick Cody), is a great spot for anyone craving a Wild West adventure. From wild mustang tours and frontier town re-creations to museums and scenic outdoor spaces, there's no shortage of ways to step back in time and explore.

If you enjoy wine, this will be your favorite destination. Healdsburg is located in the heart of wine country, offering many farm-to-table options, shopping, and, of course, wine-tasting experiences.

Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, this maritime town is rich in history and seafood.

Solvang, California, feels like stepping into a quaint European village without ever leaving the U.S. This Danish-inspired town is filled with old-world architecture, windmills, and charming streets.
