One of the biggest weekends in Montana is coming up, and I’m not sure Montana is ready for this one.

Halloween Weekend: A Spooktacular Saturday

We’re talking about Halloween weekend, October 31, and a LOT is happening.

First, Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which is already a pretty good setup for a weekend of costumes, parties, trick-or-treating and everything else that comes with Halloween.

Then comes the really important part.

More Time to Celebrate: Daylight Saving Changes

When you wake up Sunday morning, November 1st, you’ll have an extra hour to recover from whatever kind of Halloween night you had.

That’s because Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday morning, meaning we turn the clocks back an hour. Who knows, maybe this will be the last time we change our clocks back an hour.

So yes, Montana gets an extra hour of Halloween.

Game Day Excitement: Montana's Football Fever

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s plenty of football.

The University of Montana Grizzlies will be on the road in Eastern Washington to take on the Eagles, while the Montana State Bobcats will be home for a Halloween game against Cal Poly.

Then you add the music.

Head over to Billings, and you've got a pretty big '90s rock connection. Everclear, with American Hi-Fi, will be at The Pub Station on Halloween night. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8.

There’s also WICKED Halloween: Madhouse Masquerade happening at the Missoula County Fairgrounds, with DJs, performers, burlesque and a big Halloween production running into the early morning hours.

Then in Bozeman, SoDown, with Chozen and SUBBOOM, will be at The ELM Saturday night. That show starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday Traditions: Montana Millionaire and Hunting Season

Then, just when you think the weekend is winding down, Sunday morning brings another big Montana tradition.

Montana Millionaire tickets go on sale at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 1st.

General rifle season is also underway in Montana.

So, let's recap this thing.

  • Halloween on Saturday.
  • An extra hour when the clocks turn back Sunday morning.
  • Griz football.
  • Bobcat football.
  • Hunting season is in full swing.
  • Everclear in Billings.
  • Live music and Halloween parties in Missoula.
  • SoDown in Bozeman.
  • Montana Millionaire tickets are going on sale at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Then, if you happen to look up at the sky, the Taurid meteor shower will be active, with the possibility of seeing some of those big, bright fireballs Taurids are known for.

Honestly, this may be one of the most unimaginable Montana weekends.

You can dress up, watch football, go to a concert, stay out late, sleep an extra hour, wake up ridiculously early, and potentially buy yourself a chance at a million dollars.

That's not a weekend. That's a Montana endurance event.

Why Montanans Love Montana

In honor of "406 Day," the unofficial Montana holiday, we asked our listeners what's one thing they love about Montana.

Montana Duo or Couple Halloween Costume Ideas.

Pro-Tip: When selecting a costume, It would not be the worst of ideas to test the thing for practicality. Can you sit down or peel out of it for bathroom breaks? These things we did not consider to the great amusement of co-workers. It is another reason not to choose those big “Sweaters for Two”. You're welcome. B&C
