I love ice cream.

It's true. Ice Cream just makes people happy, (unless of course you're lactose intolerant, and even then there are options).  Children love it, adults love it, it brings people together in a world that needs something that does.

Think about it, when you're eating ice cream, you can't argue over politics, or vaccines, why?  Because you're too busy enjoying that creamy, heavenly bowl or cone of goodness.

Speaking of Ice Cream Cones, today is National Ice Cream Cone Day.

The Ice Cream Cone is believed to have been invented at the World's Fair in St. Louis back in 1904. As the story goes, a man was selling ice cream and was running low on paper cups, so he asked the guy next to him making waffles if he could make some sort of container or bowl out of the waffles and the rest, as they say, is history.

We Bozemanites are lucky, because we have some great options when it comes to everyone's favorite frozen treat, with many of them made local with local ingredients.

Some of our favorite ice cream spots in Bozeman are:

  • Genuine Ice Cream
  • Sweet Peaks
  • The Chocolate Moose
  • La Chatelaine
  • Michoacan A Pedir De Boca
  • The Candy Jar
  • Maven's Market
  • Cold Stone Creamery
  • Dairy Queen

As you can see, we have several different options to choose from. Whether you are looking for something fancy, something made with local ingredients, or just something vanilla, you'll find it here in Bozeman.

So, in honor of the day, head over to your favorite ice cream place and enjoy a delicious ice cream cone.
