I think it was a silly old bear who once said, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” I think he also said, “A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.” That Pooh bear sure was wise. Or maybe it was his inventor, A.A. Milne — the subject of the upcoming biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin, which examines the life of the man behind everyone’s favorite tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff. And judging by this new trailer, you’re going to need to buy some tissues in bulk.

Starring Domhnall Gleeson as the beloved playwright-turned-author, Goodbye Christopher Robin tells the story of how Milne created Winnie the Pooh (and Piglet, too) and the world of the 100 Acre Wood — all inspired by his young son, whose name was actually Christopher Robin (and who looks downright adorable in this movie). Co-starring Margot Robbie and Kelly Macdonald, Goodbye Christopher Robin has all the makings of your usual biopic drama (period setting, war, inspirational tear-jerker, et al.), but maybe this one has something a little more unconventional to offer.

Here’s the official synopsis:

GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will TIlston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh.  Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War.   But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

Directed by Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn), Goodbye Christopher Robin is set to hit theaters on November 10 — oh, would you look at that? Just in time for awards season.
