Tension on the ‘Glee‘ set? Star Cory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson on the Fox series, says creator Ryan Murphy is overworking and underpaying the cast.

A source told the New York Post that Monteith – once considered the hit show’s “golden boy” — has become the most visible cast member complaining. ”He feels they are being overworked,” says the source. “They were filming and toured without any time to recover.” The source adds that Monteith also feels Murphy “should give them a bigger share of the show’s  success.”

Monteith has publicly suggested that the cast is being underpaid. During a radio interview last year, he said, “I got 400 bucks from it going number one, but you know what, that’s okay, because if I’m patient, and if this thing does really well, maybe I’ll see another 400 bucks.”

Sources say Murphy is now reconsidering Monteith’s role on the show. They also say Murphy has threatened to cut him from a planned ‘Glee’ spinoff and to stop production on an untitled comedy Monteith was set to star in and co-produce.

A spokesperson for ‘Glee’ says there’s no truth to the story. Monteith’s spokesperson called it “completely fabricated.” The rep added, “Cory is back on set and very happy to be there.”
