The Gallatin City-County Health Department announced on Monday the deaths of three county residents with COVID-19. All three passed away in late October, but the Health Department didn't receive the official death certificates until this week. According to a press release issued by the Gallatin County Health Department, the three individuals also suffered from other significant health conditions.

The three people were a man in his 90s who died in a hospital, another man also in his 90s who died in a long-term care facility, and a woman in her 80s who died in a hospital. These COVID-19 related deaths now bring our total to 13 in Gallatin County since the coronavirus pandemic began in March.

“Our department sends heartfelt condolences to all of the families and friends,” said Matt Kelley, Gallatin City-County Health Department Health Officer. “The best and most effective way we will curb this virus is by following the recommendations you have been hearing throughout this pandemic. Avoid crowds. Keep at least 6 feet away from others. Wear a face-covering in public. Wash your hands thoroughly and often. And stay home when you don’t feel well. These small actions can save the lives of our neighbors, especially those most vulnerable among us.”

Out of respect for the families, no further details will be released.

According to COVID-19 data from the Health Department, nine of the 13 COVID-19 related deaths in Gallatin County have been individuals in their 90s. 2 have been in their 80s. No one under the age of 50 has died locally as a result of COVID-19.
