Let us just throw in this warning from the get-go! Even though Selena Gomez is co-starring in the hot, anticipated film ‘Spring Breakers,’ it’s guaranteed to not be appropriate for the youngins. But the silver lining here is that the film is getting pretty awesome reviews, so Selena lovers shouldn’t be too worried about making this a success. Unlike her other film ‘Monte Carlo,’ ahem…

Selena and her co-stars (Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and James Franco all arrived in Venice, Italy for the premiere of the film, and the first review via Indiewire is in! Oliver Lyttelton calls ‘Spring Breakers’ a “semi-conventional genre flick and future cult favorite.”

Not too shabby for a couple of Disney darlings and one ‘Pretty Little Liar.’

“It’s ultimately a fairly thin, pulpy crime tale, given more substance than it should have on paper thanks to some excellent filmmaking,” wrote Lyttelton. “It’s unlikely to make [Rachel] Korine’s [the director] hardcore fans happy (it almost feels like a statement from the director, for better or worse, that he’s ready to stop d—ing around and make “proper” films), but midnight movie programmers of the future will undoubtedly give it a long life years after it’s gone from first-run theaters.”

Truth be told, we’re glad Gomez is opting for more mature roles. But we’re really kind of stoked that Franco will be back on the big screen so we can soak up all of his… luciousness.
