Drake’s “In My Feelings” Named the Most Streamed Song of Summer 2018 on Spotify
Yet more evidence that Drake's "In My Feelings" is the song of the summer: Spotify announced today (Aug. 27) that the track was the service's most streamed song worldwide between June 1 and Aug. 20.
In that time period, "In My Feelings" was streamed on Spotify more than 393 million times. That's around 100 million more streams than the platform's second most streamed song during the same period, Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, which tallied 293 million global streams, according to Spotify's report.
While there's technically still four weeks left of summer, Spotify dubs "In My Feelings," produced by 40, TrapMoneyBenny and BlaqNmilD, the "most streamed song of summer 2018." The track also features vocals from City Girls and samples Magnolia Shorty and Lil Wayne.
It's currently enjoying its sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In July, the song broke the record set by Baauer's 2013 song "Harlem Shake" for the most U.S. streams in a single week—one of several chart and streaming records set by Drizzy's June album Scorpion.
Like Baauer's breakout hit, "In My Feelings" was boosted by a viral dance challenge, launched by Instagram comedian Shiggy, whose pantomimed choreography to the song inspired recreations by celebrities and fans around the world. When the single originally hit No. 1, Drake celebrated with Shiggy himself.
