Got a kid looking to make some money with a lemonade stand this summer? You better hope they have a permit for that.

Maybe it's because I just moved here from New York a year ago, but I just found out that lemonade stands are actually ILLEGAL in Montana. And not just in Montana - across the country, only 15 states allow kids to host their own lemonade stands.

That's... kind of insane, right? Country Time Lemonade seems to agree, which is why they're promising to help out kids who find themselves on the wrong side of the law by paying the fines they'll run into for organizing an illegal lemonade stand (up to $300). Who knows, maybe by raising awareness for how stupid this law is we can actually do something to change it.

In the meantime, anybody looking for a refreshing drink on a hot summer day can find me in my lemonade speakeasy hidden somewhere in Missoula. The password is "Lemon."
