Colbert ‘Late Show’ Sets ‘Daily Show’ Reunion With Stewart, Bee and More
The Daily Show has gone on long enough that you’d have a hard time picking any one dream cast to reunite. Nevertheless, Stephen Colbert may have found it, setting joint Late Show appearances for Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Samantha Bee and more.
CBS confirms that next Tuesday, May 9 will see a combined Late Show With Stephen Colbert guest appearance from Daily Show alum Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms and Rob Corddry. Colbert himself worked on The Daily Show before headlining The Colbert Report and subsequently moving to The Late Show.
Stewart executive produces Late Show and has put in several appearances, while Oliver now hosts HBO’s Last Week Tonight, and Bee followed suit with TBS’ Full Frontal. Corddry and Helms have largely stuck to acting, with Corddry now a Ballers regular, and Helms appearing largely to feature films.
The Daily Show reunion is no-doubt tied to upcoming May Sweeps; particularly to keep Colbert’s lead over Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. In that regard, we’ll give you three guesses who Fallon might try to tousle in.
We’ll have more on the appearance May 9, so stay tuned.
