As happy as I am that someone who is younger than 50 is going to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, I'm not positive that I'm close to happy about the Black Eyed Peas being that group.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  They consistently pump out stadium anthem after stadium anthem, but I can't help but hold out hope that the Peas will come to their senses and start making hip hop again.

Here is the story -

Fergie Ferg and The Black Eyed Peas will be hitting the stage for the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show.

The game will take place on February 6, 2011 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On their set list for the big game ... the new song, Time of My Life.

Fergie, 35, and the boys have been rocking their new tune just about everywhere ... most recently at the American Music Awards and even The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The BEP and their funky beats will definitely get the football crowd jumping! We'll be on wardrobe malfunction watch, but we have a feeling Fergie will keep her lady lumps in check.
