Best Beach Make-Out Scenes in Movies [VIDEOS]
'From Here to Eternity,' Columbia Pictures
A kiss is a kiss is a kiss – except when it's more than a kiss.
Hollywood is famous for its kiss scenes. Whether it's the waves cascading against the sand or the sun shining down in all the right places, some of the most romantic have undoubtedly taken place on the beach.
Which is why we've decided to compile a list of the best beach make-out scenes in movies. Below, check out five of our favorites, from 'Grease' to the iconic scene in 'From Here to Eternity.'
'From Here to Eternity'
Set during the lead-up to the attack on Pearl Harbor, this iconic scene finds Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr locked in a passionate embrace as the waves crash all around them. Lancaster plays First Sergeant Milton Warden, and Kerr the wife of Warden's commander.
'Grease'
Many love stories would end at the moment in which 'Grease' begins. As Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) prepares to go back to her native Australia, she and Danny (John Travolta) seal their summer romance with a passionate beach-front kiss. Little do either of them know that this is just the beginning of their life together.
'The Little Mermaid'
It's not until the end of this animated Disney classic that Eric truly gets to kiss the girl. After an epic battle with the evil Ursula, Ariel finally gets her legs … and her kiss.
'The Notebook'
A tale of lost love rediscovered, 'The Notebook' certainly does have a notable kiss scene on the beach. But it's a scene in front a slightly smaller body of water (a lake) that is perhaps most memorable. After meeting again years after their summer love has ended, Rachel McAdams' character demands to know why Ryan Gosling's character never wrote her. He tells her that he did, every single day for a year.
'10'
There are few scenes more recognizable than “That Beach Scene From '10.'” Often imitated but never surpassed, the image of Bo Derek and Dudley Moore running towards one another on the beach is truly iconic.
