Avengers: Endgame may now have a chance to beat Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time thanks to an exclusive re-release back into movie theaters featuring exclusive content.

It's now just two months shy of the initial release of the new Avengers film, with most of the momentum dying down. The film is re-releasing back to theaters on June 28 for a limited weekend run featuring new footage that has never been seen before. The footage will consist of a deleted scene, tributes and some surprises.

"Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Comicbook.com.

This re-release could push the Marvel film over the edge to hold the prestigious title of highest grossing film of all time. Avatar's total gross is $2.788 billion while Avengers: Endgame has a current total of $2.743 billion.

This isn't the only Marvel film releasing this summer. Spider-Man: Far From Home debuts in theaters on July 2.
