Missing Snowmobiler Found Safe South of Big Sky

Chris Kamman was found safe this morning in the Buck Ridge area south of Big Sky. Searchers included Gallatin County Search and Rescue, including Big Sky, Heli, and Ham teams, Civil Air Patrol, and Rocky Mountain Rotors. Sheriff Brian Gootkin would like to thank the community for its support, especially the people who showed up with backcountry gear to help look for Chris. Also thanks to Hungry Moose, Blue Moon, the Freeman family, Big Sky Resort, Yellowstone Club, and Canyon Adventures for their assistance. That kind of community help is what makes Montana special.

Authorities are searching for a man last seen near Big Sky on Wednesday.
The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating 34-year-old Christopher Kammen. He was last seen in Big Sky at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
He appears to have been headed to Doe Creek in the Yellow Mule area. He was riding a two-seater snowmobile, a purple 1999 Polaris 550 Indy similar to the one shown below, with gear tied on the back seat.
He was wearing a black coat, dark purple snow pants, and a dark grey Carhartt beanie.
