I was on Facebook last night when a friend of mine, who was attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, posted about the shooting on his page.

I immediately began to search the internet and Twitter for information about what was going on. I was physically sick when I found videos of thousands of people running for their lives to the sound of automatic gunfire begin to surface on the internet. I watched and read in disbelief as the horrific story began to unfold. I was thankful to hear that my friends who were attending the concert were safe, but couldn't help getting sucked into the chaos.

What happened in Las Vegas last night is considered to be the largest mass shooting in American history. Over 50 people have been confirmed dead, and over 400 people were injured. The gunman, who was shooting people from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, was found with 10 rifles in his hotel room. How bad does this epidemic have to get before we, as Americans, demand that something be done about it?

This problem seems to be a ticking time bomb in our country, and nothing is being done about it. It's time for our leaders to stand up and finally do something. Why are automatic weapons and assault rifles still allowed to be sold in America? They are not made for hunting or providing for your family, they are designed with one sole purpose. To kill people. This should be a wake up call to those who have argued against gun control. THIS HAS TO STOP!

What if it were your family member? What if it was your daughter who went off to see her favorite country artists with her friends, and her life was senselessly taken? Where do we draw the line?
