No revival seems off the table anymore, and certainly Alias produced enough star power to consider the possibility. Potential new episodes have even gotten so far up the chain as to reach creator J.J. Abrams, according to executive producer Josh Appelbaum.

The writing staff said as much in an ATX Festival reunion panel on Saturday, acknowledging that Sydney (Jennifer Garner) and Michael (Michael Vartan)’s daughter Isabelle could lead a new iteration. As Appelbaum offered, they’d need a more specific idea, but have certainly discussed the possibility (via Entertainment Weekly).

It would be amazing to do it; we’ve even talked with J.J. [Abrams]. The right idea would have to come. We wouldn’t want to do it unless it was absolutely perfect.

The ABC series ran for five seasons from 2001 to 2006, starring the likes of Garner, Bradley Cooper, Carl Lumbly, Legends of Tomorrow player Victor Garber, Kevin Weisman, Abrams favorite Greg Grunberg, iZombie star David Anders and more.

Abrams is reasonably busy these days, but is it worth thinking about a revival, eleven years after the fact?
