This could have been a really cool movie, but it just didn't make it there.

I am a huge fan of the X-Men films and was really excited for this new installment. They were introducing the original core members (Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops) and they still had the big heavy hitters (Magneto, Mystique). The film starts out with the mutant Apocalypse in 3500 BC and learn that he was the first-ever mutant. Then, from there, the film squeezes in as many characters as possible, and it's pretty insane.

Highlights: Evan Peter's Quicksilver is still one of the best characters ever. He is hilarious and is becoming a big favorite. The introduction to Scott Summers/Cyclops is also great.

Lows: Apocalypse should be an awesome villain and made him pretty lame. This film takes place in 1983 and Michael Fassbender plays Magneto and should be around 50 but still looks 30. Too many characters.

Review:Good movie, but I would wait for this to come out streaming or Blu-Ray. 2.5/5
