‘Black and Yellow’ rapper Wiz Khalifa is having a thrilling week, as he released ‘Rolling Papers’ and reportedly became engaged to his girlfriend Amber Rose.
According to MediaTakeOut, Wiz proposed LAST NIGHT, with a source saying, “Wiz is going on tour for the next month. But he told her when he gets back, he’s going to marry her … And he was serious. He asked her to start making plans.”
Rose, a stunning model who often sports a shaved head, first popped up in the hip-hop scene when she was dating Kanye West. That high-profile relationship fizzled out in 2010. Wiz has blown up recently, with his smash hit single, ‘Black and Yellow’ dominating the airwaves at every turn.
Rose, 27, and Khalifa, 23, both have Pennsylvania roots: She was born in Philadelphia while he is a very proud Pittsburgh-er. The rapper even took his lady love home to meet his mother before he performed at a Pittsburgh Steelers playoff game. “They actually really, really dig each other,” Wiz tells MTV at the time about the meeting. “Amber is a sweetheart, and my mom, everybody who meets her loves her anyway. So it was really tight.”
The couple’s relationship blossomed from a friendship. When appearing on ‘Rap FixLive,’ Rose spoke highly of her BF, saying, “He’s really funny, he’s really charming. I didn’t know much about his music at first and, obviously, he became a good friend, I started listening to his music. He’s awesome, he’s talented, he’s amazing.”
Wiz concurred and admitted that while the relationship is nascent, it’s deep. “We’re really new, but we’re really close and understand each other’s life. Understanding is really important,” he says.
