Why I Am Excited For The Grammys

I don't think I have cared about the Grammy Awards for five years due to the fact that they always seem to overlook amazing artists and choose safe ones.  But this year is different.  Not only is there amazing/new artists nominated but they are in the heavyweight categories (Album/Song/Record of the year).

Of course there are people who seem to get nominated every single year (Beyonce, Beck, and Pharrell).  But this year was a breakout for new artists like Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Bastille, Sia (who has been around forever and never got recognition), and Meghan Trainor among others. But my favorite nomination and I will be watching closely is Childish Gambino who has been nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album.

I have been a huge fan of this guy since I was in college and he is a multi talented dude.  His real name is Donald Glover and is also a stand up comedian, actor (Community), and writer (30 Rock). He pretty much can do anything he wants and succeeds at it. I am pulling for him due to his album is completely different from any rap album we have heard in past years.  He is definitely going to be possibly the future of rap/hip hop along with Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean.  Check him out.
