The Red Flag Warning is in effect until 9:00 p.m. July 5.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occuring now, or will shortly. A combination of low relative humidity, hot temperatures, thunderstorms with little rainfall, and strong winds can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The combination of weather conditions will create erratic fire behavior and new fire starts. The counties affected by the 'Red Flag' warning are Lewis and Clark, Meagher, Powell, Broadwater, Gallatin, and Jefferson.

Scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening could produce strong/erratic wind gusts and frequent lightning. Some storms will produce little rainfall.
