It's always terribly sad to hear news of children being hurt. Earlier this week, Southwest Montana was rocked by the news of a 3 year old, Broderick Daniel Cramer, who was killed by his father near Anaconda. Two Deer Lodge women recognized the heartbreak in the community and are organizing a candlelight vigil in the memory of the boy.

Organizers Aimee Nichols of Anaconda and Rebecca Gallagher of Deer Lodge say the service will take place at 8 p.m. on July 18 near the duck pond in Anaconda's Washoe Park.

Authorities began searching for the Washington boy after his father, Jeremy Cramer, was arrested Monday night in a convenience store bathroom washing blood from his clothes. The boy's body was found Tuesday about 150 to 200 yards away from his father's pickup, on a rural road about 5 miles south of Anaconda.

Jeremy Cramer is charged with deliberate homicide and is jailed on $250,000 bond.
