If you didn't hear by now Uber, the on demand car service, is now available to operate in Montana. There was word that this would be available as soon as this past summer, but now the Montana Public Service Commission has approved the bill.

Uber is available in the big cities and around the world, but having it here in Montana is pretty interesting. We all know that the service won't be in the small towns, but what cities are going to get this service? The most likely candidates are Billings, Missoula, Whitefish/Kalispell, Helena and here in Bozeman. The big question we need to ask: Is there is a need for Uber in Montana? By offering affordable rides home we could significantly lower our DUI rates. On the other hand, there has been controversy with Uber and many taxi companies.

What do you think?  Do we really need Uber in Montana?
