The Bozeman Police Department posted on their Facebook tips from Animal Control to keep your animals safe with all this smoke in the area.

Here are a few tips.

• Keep small animals indoors as much as possible with windows shut, birds are particularly susceptible to smoke.
• Avoid intense outdoor exercise during periods of poor air quality.
• Provide plenty of fresh water.

They also recommend if your animal starts having trouble breathing to contact your veterinarian immediately.
