Everyone wants to keep things local and not want to share anything.

Listen, I understand about keeping things local especially things that make Bozeman special. The problem is there is a harsh reality that very, very soon some of these special places won't be little secrets anymore and are going to become common knowledge.

I was going to blog about this restaurant here in Bozeman that I had no idea even existed and when I told a few people today I was going to do that, I was told not to because it's a 'Bozeman secret'. I remember when Jesse on our sister station 100.7 XL Country got in trouble by doing blogs about Bozeman and some listeners were genuinely angry with him. The listeners felt as though he was giving away what makes Montana/Bozeman special and how he shouldn't let people know about it. I'm not going to lie...that's a dumb reason.

Listen, I come from a town that is on the south tip of the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. There are tons of swimming spots, boating areas, and restaurants that I know of and love. The only difference is I share that information because I want people who come visit my town to have the absolutely best time possible. I grew up here in Montana and I am proud of how amazing our state is. What some citizens here need to understand is that with Montana/Bozeman being an amazing place to visit/live, people are going to move here because they love it and want to enjoy this place all the time. I might be wrong. Maybe I should stop telling friends and family about how awesome Bozeman is. What should I do?
