‘The Night Before’ is a Pretty Decent Holiday Film

I am a huge fan of Joseph Gordon Levitt. I think he is a supremely talented guy and when you put him in a film with Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie, it's a win. The movie The Night Before is about these three friends who come together every Christmas, but this is the last year they are going to do this tradition due to everyone growing apart. I had an absolute blast at this movie. I laughed the entire time and everyone in it was perfect.

The only problem I had was that when it got to the big sentimental parts, it was lackluster and seemed forced. This could have been a great Christmas comedy, but it ends up being one you can enjoy every other year. The best part of the whole movie though is Michael Shannon (Man of Steel, Boardwalk Empire), who steals the whole movie as their former drug dealer Mr. Green. I recommend it, but wait for it to come out to rent to watch it.
