The reviews for Stephen Colbert’s debut as the new Late Show host were mostly positive. Our own Matt Singer said the show got off to a “solid start” as Colbert took over for David Letterman, but the show almost didn’t get off to a start at all. On his second show, Colbert revealed that because of editing and technical glitches, his first episode almost didn’t make it on air.

Jon Stewart said goodbye to The Daily Show last night in equal parts star-studded and quiet, personal fashion as former correspondents like Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver and Olivia Munn returned to pay their respects, while Bruce Springsteen closed out the slow with a performance — at Stewart’s request — of his 1999 song “The Land of Hopes and Dreams” and, for his fellow New Jerseyan, “Born to Run”.

Where last year we were watching David Letterman and Jay Leno still battling it out for late-night ratings, the future looks very different now that 'The Colbert Report' star Stephen Colbert has officially been announced as Letterman's replacement, to compete with the already-installed 'Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon. While plenty of questions remain, Colbert himself will drop by Letterman's 'Lat

Both Comedy Central and Stephen Colbert have well-established that 'The Colbert Report' features the political satirist in a deliberately-heightened and ultra conservative fictional representation of himself, though a new controversy has emerged from the most recent episode. Following an out-of-context tweet from 'The Colbert Report''s page, accusations of racism have been leveled at the host, wit

If you have not yet heard of KTVU's terrible gaffe, they are the news crew responsible for incorrectly reporting the pilot names of crashed Asiana Flight 214 as 'Sum Ting Wong', 'Wi Tu Lo', 'Ho Lee Fuk' and 'Bang Ding Ow'. Stephen Colbert points out they were racist in doing so; those names are all Chinese.

Got some Kleenex? You'll need it for this. Stephen Colbert returned to hosting 'The Colbert Report' last night (June 19) and opened the show with a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, who died last week at the age of 92. In doing so, he slipped out of his right-wing conservative character (something he almost never does) and was just Stephen Colbert, grieving son.

Stephen Colbert, who of course spoofs a wingnut conservative on his show 'The Colbert Report,' was shocked and disheartened to learn that FOX's Bill O'Reilly doesn't really give a hoot about gay marriage one way or the other. Which is pretty shocking considering Bill O'Reilly has spent his whole career hooting about something.
