SNL burst out of the gate for Season 42 over the weekend, having spent a summer in transition with headline after headline passing them by. Leslie Jones in particular had something to say about the hack she suffered in August, recruiting Mr. Robot himself to track down the culprit in a new sketch.

Boy, that SNL train keeps right on chugging today. Following word that Lin-Manuel Miranda (and maybe Emily Blunt) would follow Margot Robbie as this weekend’s Season 42 premiere host, there’s even more breaking news. Jack Donaghy himself, Alec Baldwin will take over the role of Donald Trump, with the first debate promo already online.

It took strangely long for SNL to cough up its first Season 42 hosts (the premiere is already this weekend), and even then, the long-running sketch comedy only confirmed Margot Robbie. Now, our second host of the new season is none other than the ten-dollar founding father, as Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda makes his hosting debut.

Anyone familiar with CW breakout Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (and if not, get to Netflixin’!) likely knows Rachel Bloom has a storied history of viral hits. In fact, it almost placed her among the SNL cast, for which the Golden Globe-winner now releases her audition, featuring Katharine Hepburn as Bugs Bunny.

SNL won’t return for Season 41 until at least September, but considering their comparatively light workloads, Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che are ending their summer breaks early to take on the political conventions. Ahead of a more classic Weekend Update, however, watch as Jost and Che take to the streets of Cleveland for some fun at the RNC’s expense.

The likelihood of Hannibal Season 4 seems to get dimmer with each day removed from that cliff-diving finale, but according to Bryan Fuller, our chances are actually improving. Busy though he, Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy remain, Fuller says the possibility may again open up in late 2017.

TV superheroes are everywhere these days, so leave it to NBC to attempt a new spin on DC’s greatest titans. Superhero office comedy Powerless has officially been granted a series order, along with first photos of the DC Comics-adjacent sitcom starring Vanessa Hudgens.

DC properties have had a much easier time keeping afloat on TV than in theaters, but a Powerless comedy like NBC’s insurance-themed take could be something of a wild card. Nonetheless, we have our first Powerless star, now that Vanessa Hudgens has signed on for a lead role in the pilot.
