Long before Sean Spicer started hiding in the bushes to escape the press, SNL fans knew Melissa McCarthy’s return would be brutal. Ol’ Spicey’s already in the spotlight for SNL’s penultimate Season 42 promo, as McCarthy dances through Studio 8H.

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, because you almost certainly haven’t — think The Heat, but instead of tough cookie Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy teams with a street-smart puppet to bust criminal scum. Step aside, Anomalisa, a new puppet comedy has arrived to freak out audiences and challenge the boundaries of what can be considered marketable for a mass audience.

SNL declared its final hosts of the season earlier than usual, tying the announcements of Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy and Dwayne Johnson to its live coast-to-coast debut. Now, the final shows have Katy Perry and others among the musical guests, assuming the Writers Guild strike doesn’t shutter the season early.

This past Saturday marked a major milestone for SNL with its first live coast-to-coast airing. Even Melissa McCarthy came out of warm-ups to resurrect her Sean Spicer impression, but did something seem … off about her presence? As SNL now confirms, McCarthy took part in a rare coast-to-coast effort.

'I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby, and it’s me,' McCarthy joked.

SNL has one heck of a Season 42 finish ahead, to follow Louis C.K. with Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy and The Rock, and live on every coast at that. Of all those names, however, McCarthy might build the most anticipation, as the Sean Spicer impressionist says she’s already squirreling away notes for the next appearance.

SNL is no stranger to the current White House’s disdain for Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression (probably why we’re seeing it more and more), though the series trotted out another unexpected addition over the weekend with Melissa McCarthy’s Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Thankfully, the real Spicer is a much better sport about it than his boss.
