As news of Osama bin Laden's death spread across the globe Sunday night, celebrities and politicians took to the Internet with quick responses to the news.
From Charlie Sheen to Donald Trump, the sentimentality shared was the same. Celebrities poured their American pride and thoughts for the victims of 9/11 into their tweets. Both celebrities and politicians extended accolades to the administration and to the United States military. Several celebrities injected their senses of humor into the news.
We've compiled some of the more notable tweets released in the hours following President Barack Obama's announcement. Check them out after the jump.
Yesterday on Ellen Lady Gaga performed "Judas". With the world waiting for the debut of the possibly controversial video on American Idol next week does this give us a clue what we're in for?
Weird Al did a parody of Lady Gaga's "Born this Way" that pokes fun at Gaga's eccentricities and over-the-top performances entitled "Perform this Way." But sadly, Al could not get the approval from the Pop Princess to release the song. But that's what YouTube is for and thanks to our friends at 98.7 Jack FM we've got that video! Check out the song with lyrics right here.
Lady Gaga has unleashed a new track on the world. It is called Judas and you can listen to it here. Also, Gaga reveals she is a transformer on the now revealed album cover for Born This Way.
Lady Gaga is at the remixing again and this time it's Bollywood. I'm not sure how many different ways you can hear the same songs and still consider them new? Is she introducing new kinds of music to a broad audience or is she just trying to put out the same music to increase sales? Either way, it's happening!
Hey, you can't be perfect all the time! Lady Gaga takes a spill but still rocks it.
Gaga is always looking for ways to help out and this is a great idea. Donating the proceeds from a song that was put out just for fun to charity. A charity that she feels very strongly about, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.
Adam Lambert caused a major stir at Lady Gaga's 25th birthday party.
According to an exclusive report from Us Magazine, the 'American Idol' runner-up arrived drunk at the party, which he allegedly wasn't even invited to in the first place. (The report says he showed up as a guest of Gaga's tour opener, the Scissor Sisters.)
Perez Hilton claims that Lambert was "super sloppy embarrassingly drunk," and a source adds that "Adam acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga's face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!"
Does Lady Gaga put this out hoping to appeal the message to more people? Some may not be a fan of Gaga's original version but may get down on this one. Or maybe she just likes to mix things up, what do you think?
LADY GAGA has designed a bracelet, which she's selling on her website to raise money for Japan tsunami and earthquake relief. The wristbands are white, with "We Pray for Japan" written in red.
--They cost $5 a pop
Lady Gaga may seem pretty outrageous and self absorbed as she walks, or rides, down runways in crazy outfits but she sticks to her guns. The pop star recently cut ties with the uber-corporation Target after the company made a monetary donation supporting an anti-gay politician. I say good for her.
