Upon her cancellation of all 2011 performances, Adele was subject to a Twitter frenzy claiming the chanteuse had throat cancer. Rest easy: It’s not true!
Some good and bad news for Adele fans. We’ll start with the bad news: The soulful siren has cancelled all of her remaining 2011 performances to undergo throat surgery.
Chanteuse Adele, whose smash album ’21′ has sold an estimated 10 million copies and is the best-selling album of 2011 in both the US and the singer’s native UK, recently told Spinner that she’s mended fences with the man who broke her heart and inspired the songs on the record.
“We’re becoming friends again,” she told a London audience this week. “It’s alright, I know what I’m doing. Enough time has gone by now.”
When UK television host Jonathan Ross recently asked singer Adele about her upcoming projects, the soul superstar may have said a bit too much.
“It is actually a theme … wow, that’s really giving something away!” she said, quickly covering her mouth. As Ross hummed the iconic James Bond theme song, she conceded, “It’s a concept. One song.”

MTV announced Thursday that Adele, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne will each perform at its annual Video Music Awards in August.
This will mark the first VMA performance for Adele, who is up for multiple awards, including Video of the Year, for her chart-topping single, ‘Rolling in the Deep.’
For the first time in seven years, music sales have posted an increase -- and the surprising charge is being led by Adele, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.
The pop trio boasts the top-selling albums of 2011, with Adele's '21' coming out on top with 2.52 million copies sold, Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' in second with 1.54 million units, and Katy Perry boasting more than five million in digital singles sales.

Gwyneth Paltrow returns to the hit FOX musical series 'Glee' tomorrow night, and based on this latest sound bite, it's going to be another high note for the Oscar-winning actress.
Paltrow, who memorably covered such songs as Cee-Lo's 'Forget You' Fleetwood Mac's 'Landslide' on the series, will next tackle 'Turning Tables' from Adele's platinum-selling CD '21.'
