No one necessarily bat an eye at filming on the first season of Stranger Things, but the Netflix thriller’s overnight success meant Season 2 would have great deal more eyes on it. So it was, that creators turned to the Game of Thrones spoiler experts for advice on keeping Season 2 under wraps.

Per Entertainment Weekly, co-creator Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy explained that Season 2 scripts had to be kept on lockdown, while call sheets referred to both Eleven and the series with a code name. In particular, Levy explained that “We literally consulted with the producers on Game of Thrones to learn security protocols,” which include Duffer burning daily shooting notes, among others:

We had no security protocols last season and we have extensive security protocols this season. I can’t speak about what they are because then people could crack them. We protect every story point, every page of every script.

Stranger Things Season 2 has been reasonably spoiler-tight thus far (although like Jon Snow, everyone knew Eleven would be back), and even episode titles listed with the announcement teaser were apparently tweaked to avoid fans figuring anything out early. There’s plenty of time until Season 2's Halloween premiere, so will Stranger Things manage to keep a lid on it?
