It was almost a year ago to date when Brian Freshour, a young American solider, was over in Afghanistan when their truck was hit by an I.E.D., improvised explosive device, on a Convoy mission.  Brian was not too severely hurt compared to the damage. He suffered a concussion, a gash from his eye

all the way across his forehead and a knee cut that was so deep he would remain watched by nurses for a couple of weeks. While Brian was going to be laid up for awhile all he wanted to do was listen to music.

Brian’s sister Tracy had sent Brian over seas with a pair of the wrap around Skull Candy ear buds as a present.  When Brian’s truck was hit the ear phones were lost.  Brian got a hold of Tracy back in the States and requested that she get him of pair of those headphones he loved so much.  Tracy lives here in Bozeman and went searching to find her brother the same pair to ship over to him in Afghanistan.

I just met Tracy at the dental office I work in when her little girl came in for some work. Her little girl was rocking the sweetest set of Skull Candy Headphones. I was thinking to myself, dang, those are some freakin nice head phones so of course I had to ask Tracy where she got them.  This is when she told me this story.

So, back to Tracy and her mad mission to find that pair of headphones to send to her brother as soon as possible.  After searching all around town and having no luck Tracy decided to go on-line and order them to be shipped.  Come to find out when she found them and asked for them to be shipped with U.P.S., she was told U.P.S. will not send anything to military addressed areas over seas.  Shocking, I had no idea they had this policy which I am not quit sure how I feel about it but not the point.  U.P.S told Tracy that she should call the company and have them directly send the item.

All Tracy’s goal was to get her brother the Skull Candy ear buds he loved so much and get them to him as quickly as possible.  Tracy called up Skull Candy and told the Skull Candy representative her story and request asking if there was a way she could get them sent to her brother in Afghanistan willing to pay extra whatever it would take.  The Skull Candy representative said that they also do not send over seas but what was her address.  Tracy at the time was with her family at their house so she asked which address her personal house address or where she was at now. The representative said the one you are at now.  Tracy gave the address.  After receiving the address the representative said ok and was ready to let Tracy go.  She asked don’t you need a card number and or payment for this.  The representative said no and that he has already placed the order for 6, yes 6, new pairs of their top notch Skull Candy headphones to be shipped out today with no questions asked.

This absolutely blew me away.  I can only imagine how Tracy felt.  Skull Candy and the representative heard her story asked no questions took control and provided a product for the ones serving our Country.  Tracy told me, “This is one of my favorite stories to tell. It really shows that people still do support American values and take pride.”

I am proud to share this story and proud to say I am a Skull Candy owner but more importantly proud of those men and women who serve our Country.
