'Family Guy' fans have nothing to go all giggety about today, as Seth Macfarlane announced on Twitter that he wouldn't be returning to host the 2014 Oscars.

Don't say we didn't warn you.

Seth took to Twitter to break the news, saying:

And it makes sense. MacFarlane is currently directing a star-studded cast (including Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson) in 'A Million Ways to Die in the West,' his second feature film.

Seth came under fire for his controversial hosting turn earlier this year, with naysayers complaining many of his jokes were offensive -- culminating with Jamie Lee Curtis comparing his 'We Saw Your Boobs' song to a televised execution. (Calm down, Jamie. Eat some yogurt.)

Along with Seth's announcement came his praise for show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Maron, as well as a personal recommendation for next year's gig: Joaquin Phoenix. Which was probably tongue-in-cheek, considering the man hates the entire concept of awards.

A Joaquin show would certainly be interesting -- but our top choice right now is still Amanda Bynes.
