Don't ask Rihanna to join Taylor Swift onstage anytime soon. In an interview with NME, RiRi talked about the "Bad Blood" singer and revealed that she would never grace the stage at one of her shows because it doesn’t make sense.

Ever since Swift kicked off her 1989 World Tour back in May, she has welcomed various music superstars to join her onstage. Rappers like Nelly, B.o.B and Fetty Wap to R&B crooners like Usher and Justin Timberlake have performed alongside her.

So in an interview with NME, Rihanna was asked if she would hit the stage with Swift at a concert. Shocker, she wouldn't. “I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense,” she told the publication. “I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not. I can’t really say I’m a role model. I’m not perfect. I’m not trying to sell that.”

Granted, a RiRi and Swifty impromptu performance would probably appease both of the singers' dedicated fan bases, however, it would look convoluted and not genuine. While these words may be a shock to the Swiftys, we give props to the "Stay" singer for being aware of what works and doesn't work for her brand.

Rihanna added that she keeps it real with her fans and is not trying to sell a squeaky clean facade unlike her fellow pop comrade Swift.

“I want people to have fun but be responsible, protect themselves and be in control of your life,” she said. “You can never judge people. I always made that a point. You never know what someone is going through."

And let's keep it real, Rihanna's video for “BBHMM” with its violence and nudity is vastly different from the fun and super pop imagery that Swift displays in her visuals like "Bad Blood."

So yeah it's a bummer that Rihanna and Swift won't "Shake It Off" together onstage. But it doesn't mean that they won't collaborate together musically on a song that fits both of their styles.

What do you think of Rihanna's remarks about Taylor Swift? Is she too squeaky clean for Rihanna? Tell us in the comments below.
