Now that Christmas has come and gone, the City of Bozeman Forestry Division offers a great service and helps the community recycle living Christmas trees.

These Christmas trees will be composted into mulch and then used as organic cover.  In order to recycle your tree be sure to remove all the decorations from the tree like lights, ornaments, wire, ect.

They can only accept whole trees so please don't cut your tree into smaller pieces.   Also, they cannot take wreaths or garlands since they cannot chip the material.

You can drop your tree at the following locations for Christmas Tree Recycling until February 16th:

  • BMX Park on Tamarack
  • Regional Park on the north side of Oak
  • Christie Field on Mason Street
  • Softball Complex in the lower parking lot on Haggerty Lane
