Music legend Quincy Jones was hospitalized for breathing problems on Thursday (Sept. 17), but according to his publicist, he's "fine" now. Phew.

Although the news was first reported by TMZ, Jones' publicist, Arnold Robinson, sent an e-mail statement to the Associated Press to explain that the 82-year-old music mogul was "hospitalized for observations out of caution after having breathing problems."

The famed producer fell ill at his home in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon and was rushed to a nearby hospital for his respiratory issues.

To ease fans' fears that his health may be deteriorating, Jones sent out a reassuring tweet following his hospital visit. "Had a little shortness of breath, but all is good. Still much to do. God Bless," he wrote.

It would be an understatement to say that his passing would be a tremendous loss in the music industry -- especially as talks of a Kendrick Lamar collaboration seemed underway. The Compton rapper interviewed Jones for HYPETRAK Magazine and was able to get a few gems of advice from the man who has racked up 27 Grammys with over 70 years in the game.

"You don't go for money or fame, 'cause if you do the s--- that moves you, it's gonna happen," Jones said. "Music will never be more or less than you are as a human being, 'cause you get back what you give."

Jones also spoke on how music changed his life course. "Every drop of blood in my body said, 'This is what you’re gonna do for the rest of your life…' and it saved my life."

The legendary producer is not only responsible for the sounds behind Michael Jackson's ThrillerBad and Off The Wall albums but his music also been sampled in hundreds of hip-hop songs. Some include, "Shook Ones Pt II" by Mobb Deep, "Passin' Me By" by The Pharcyde and "How Do You Want It" by 2Pac featuring K-Ci & JoJo. Future's "Commas" also samples the "Ironside" theme which was produced by Jones.
