With the success of ‘The Voice,’ it was only a matter of time before the show grew into an international franchise. First up for the series expansion is Australia.

The Australian version of hit singing competition will feature four coaches, many of whom U.S. fans already know. The panel will be comprised of Keith Urban, Seal, Joel Madden and Nick Jonas girlfriend Delta Goodrem.

We would be remiss not to point out the stereotypical similarities between the Australian and American coaches. Urban is to Blake Shelton as Seal is to Cee Lo Green, and Madden is to Adam Levine as Goodrem is to Christina Aguilera (take that SATs!).

However, while the basic genres are covered, we’re not sure how necessary it was to find stars with the same general aesthetic. Sure, the formula worked in The States, but surely the need for a tattooed rocker and a blond chanteuse was unnecessary. Does that have any bearing on their coaching abilities? We think not.

In the clip, each star talks about what’s in store, which includes the beloved blind auditions. “It’s all about the voice and I love the fact that we get a chance to connect with that before everything else,” Urban says.

The Australian version of ‘The Voice’ will premiere this year.
