When I woke up today and saw the new music out today I had a flash that it was the 90s again with new stuff from Jennifer Lopez, The Beastie Boys, Stevie Nicks all putting out new albums today it was easy to get confused. But then I saw that there was “Now That’s What I Call Music 38″ and I realized that it really is 2011. Check out all of the new music –
—“Love?”, Jennifer Lopez – You can preview the album on J-Lo’s site, here, but you have to send out a shout on Twitter or Facebook in order to make it happen.
—“Now That’s What I Call Music 38″ . . . including Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, Rihanna’s “S&M”, Pink’s “[Effin’] Perfect”, Cee Lo’s “Forget You”, the Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)”, and Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me”.
—“Hot Sauce Committee Part 2″, the Beastie Boys –Listen to the whole album at their website, here. Naturally, the songs include some naughty language.
—“In Your Dreams”, Stevie Nicks – This is her first album of new material in 10 years. It includes the song “Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)” which was inspired by “Twilight: New Moon”. You can preview the whole album at RollingStone.com.
“This Is Gonna Hurt”, Sixx: A.M., a.k.a. the side project for Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx. The band’s other members are DJ Ashba and James Michael. This is their second album. The first was the 2007 disc “The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack”.

–“Duets”, Barry Manilow – Reba McEntire performs “Islands in the Stream” with Barry, and his other guests include Dionne Warwick, Sheena Easton, Mel Torme, The Association, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, and Melissa Manchester.
–The soundtrack albums for “Thor”, “Fast Five”, and the second season of “Fringe”. The “Fast Five” disc includes the Ludacris song “Furiously Dangerous”.
