So I went snowboarding with my brother less than two weeks ago up in Whitefish, Montana at Whitefish Mountain Resort(Big Mtn. to locals/non tourists).  This was my first time up on a mountain in 14 years and I was a big skier back in the day.  But my brother thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to learn how to snowboard, plus I always wanted to learn.

We got me all ready to go and my first difficult challenge was pushing the snowboard with my back foot behind the board. It didn't feel right to me and everyone watching me as well.  But I got on the chair and there we went and my first run went as expected, I leaned forward to much and got caught looking down.  I crashed....a lot.  My second run though my brother and his girlfriend were impressed, I fell down but only a few times compared to the ten crashes on the first run.  After a few more we decided to go on a longer run and that's where things got interesting.

We went up Chair 2 and it was a big run, with Black Diamond runs and moguls but my brother reassured me that we will got down this nice groomed runs so I can feel comfortable.  I felt safe....too safe.  When we got off the chair, my other siblings and I take a picture off all of us having a good time(my body hated me at this moment) then we were off.  When we first started going the runs were pretty bumpy and I asked my brother about it and he "accidentally" took me down some mogul runs.  I was not pleased but he thought this was a good idea for me to get used to.  I did fairly well on them and got through but when we got to the end I picked up a lot of speed and when I went to make a turn my board caught an edge and I flew to the ground and jacked up my left shoulder really bad.

After this was all done, my ankle was sprained, my knees hurt, my shoulder felt like I was hit by a car, and I couldn't turn my neck without moving my whole upper body.  But after a few beers I felt much better. My ankle is still a little tender and my shoulder needs some ice.  Will I go snowboarding again?  Probably.  Let me heal up first.
