I saw this meme on imgur.com, but I had no idea what it was about. Come to find out that back in May, Montana passed House Bill (HB) 603. This bill requires the government to obtain a warrant of probable cause in order to spy on you through your electronics.  Although it seems ludicrous to me that a bill needs passed in order for this to be the case, Montana is the first to pass such a bill.

HB 603 passed with out much news on it, other than some snide "paranoia" remarks. Then, almost to the day, Edward Snowden released classified documents about the US government keeping tabs on innocent Americans through Verizon and other sources. Now who's the "paranoid" one? Word is that other state's, including Massachusetts, are considering their own privacy laws as well.

Should Montana have this law? Does having this law in effect make us less safe, because the government can't keep tabs on "terrorists"?  Let us know your thoughts.
