Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill and We the Best artist Ace Hood has come to the defense of Rick Ross over his date rape lyrics on Rocko‘s song ‘U.O.E.N.O.’

During an interview with Washington, D.C., radio station 93.9 WKYS, the Philly rhymer was asked about his thoughts on Rozay’s infamous line on the controversial song.

“I don’t even care about nobody criticizing about lyrics. People rap about killing stuff all day,” he said. “Biggie said, ‘rape your kid throw ‘em over the bridge’ back then. It was nothing, it was just hip-hop. Now you got all these weirdos on these social sites voicing their opinion about something anybody say. I don’t care, I’m from the hood.”

Meek then added that rap is visual entertainment in the same vein as movies and television. “If a writer write about somebody getting raped in a movie, that mean he a rapist or he want girls to get raped? No, he just wrote about that in a movie.”

Meanwhile, Ace appeared befuddled when asked about Rozay’s controversial lyrics during his appearance on the Jenny Boom Boom radio show. However, the ‘Bugatti’ rapper insisted that Ross meant no harm by his verse.

“I’ve known Ross ever since I jumped into this music business, and he didn’t mean it in no way that would be degrading to women,” he said. “What they saying [he said], he didn’t say it, you know what I’m saying?”

Uh, nope.

For his part, Ross used Twitter to apologize for his lyrics last week after mounting protests from women’s group UltraViolet. “I dont condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape. #BOSS [sic],” he tweeted.

Despite Ross’ apology, UltraViolet is stepping up their campaign to have Reebok dump the MMG honcho as their sneaker spokesperson.
