One of the biggest complaints from locals is that Montana isn't Montana anymore.  Especially in the bigger towns where "box stores" have taken offer along with high dollar stores and restaurants where some folks simply can't afford to take their families.

Many, long for the easy-going, small-town feel that they remember as kids growing up, and the good news is, there is still a lot of that to be found here in Montana.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy the "good ole' days", you certainly have options, but there is one popular Montana town that seems to stand out above the rest, and it just happens to be my favorite town in the state.

Livingston is located on the Yellowstone River and is known for its close proximity to Bozeman, Yellowstone National Park, and Paradise Valley. Plus, it was recently named the coolest city in Montana.

Livingston has a fantastic downtown with plenty of retail and dining options, and some of those businesses have been around longer than many of us have.  Places like the Murry Hotel, the Empire Twin, Mint Cafe, Riverside Hardware, and Mark's In & Out have been serving folks for a whole lot of years.

Not to mention some of the newer places like Wolf's Mercentile and The Fainting Goat.

No matter the season, Livingston is a great way to relieve that old school Montana feel while maybe taking a little break away from the grind.  While there are lots of wonderful small towns throughout Montana, a day in Livingston is good for the soul.

20 License Plates Banned In Montana

This is just a small glimpse at banned license plates in the state of Montana. There are well over 4000 that could be added to this list.

Now why some of these are banned is beyond me. I don't find any of them offensive, that's for sure; the state of Montana has the right to refuse:

"any combination of letters or numbers, or both, that may carry connotations offensive to good taste and decency or which are misleading or a duplication of license plates provided elsewhere."- Montana Motor Vehicle Department

What plates are banned in your state? Hopefully, they are not as picky as Montana.
