Lana Del Rey Performs ‘Video Games’ on ‘Letterman’
Lana Del Rey appeared on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ on Thursday night (Feb. 2), performing her single, ‘Video Games,’ for the crowd.
While the show was pre-recorded, her performance was still shot live, giving Del Rey a chance to redeem herself after her polarizing ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut. This time, the 25-year-old showed more control in her voice, and swayed just enough to enamor Letterman.
“Wow, that was beautiful,” the late-night talk show host said after scaling the statuesque singer up and down. House band leader Paul Shaffer concurred, adding, “It don’t get no better. It was gorgeous.”
Letterman then asked the shy chanteuse, “Can you come back tomorrow night?” Del Rey replied with a smile, “My pleasure.”
“Thank you for making the record #1 in 11 countries,” so she wrote on Twitter earlier this week in response to the news. “Your sweet words have softened the effect of even the harshest reviews. I adore you.”
