These days, Katy Perry is getting spiritual and political. After cleansing her spirit with meditation and a journey to the top of a volcano, Perry has signed on for a fundraiser for President Obama.

On Saturday, Perry hinted that she was in the midst of a spiritual awakening when she tweeted, "Starting the day with a group meditate #breakfastofchampions." Monday, that was followed by, "Getting some sh-- out my chakra's! #eloquent." And Tuesday, she wrote, "I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano," and included a photo of herself basking atop an unnamed volcano with mountains visible in the distance.

Perry's new mental and physical challenges could be a way of finally putting ex-husband Russell Brand in the rear-view mirror for good. Though they separated in December, their divorce did not become official until July. Perry has been hanging out with John Mayer in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign told The Hollywood Reporter that the 'Wide Awake' singer will be one of many performers on the bill for the "30 Days to Victory" concert at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Oct. 7. Tickets start at $44 for those under the age of 40.
