Justin Bieber Talks Christmas, Baby Drama With Elvis Duran and the Morning Show

Nothing is going to get Justin Bieber down this holiday season — not even a paternity lawsuit. The Biebs stepped in to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show in New York on Thursday AM to talk about the good things going on in his life, like his charity work with Pencils of Promise and his Christmas album, but also touched on the hot topic that seems to resurface in the news daily: his ‘baby mama’ drama.

Bieber wants everyone to know, once and for all, that the accusations being made by Mariah Yeater don’t faze him one bit. And why should they? He’s a busy guy, you know. “Right now I’m focusing on my album and the music and the charity that we’re doing,” Biebs explained, referencing his charitable and immensely successful ‘Under the Mistletoe’ release. “Just being positive, because Christmas time is a time for joy and happiness, so that’s what I’m thinking.”

He continued, “As far as the whole baby situation, it’s unfortunate that it had to happen like that, that people make false accusations. but things happen in this industry and you just have to keep your head high and be positive and that’s all I really have to say.” But truthfully, the 17-year-old ‘Baby’ singer feels like the claims that he fathered some girl he’s never met are, well, kinda boring. “If it was up to me, it would have been a better story, like, ‘Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel…’ That would have been an awesome one,” he said, which garnered a big laugh from the radio hosts (we’re sure he’s just kidding, Selena).

In reality, Bieber doesn’t have time to deal with silly rumors. He’s got money to give and people to please and is constantly on the move. Bieber did say, however, that he tries to take time for himself every now and then so he doesn’t get burnt out. “Usually, I work really hard for awhile, like go go go, and then I take a week off,” he said, remembering back to his recent stint overseas where he was flying literally every morning, which in the end, got him sick. “I take a day off every week, I try to make sure I don’t work myself too hard.”

But that day is not today. On Thursday (Nov. 17) Bieber and Pencils of Promise will host their first-ever gala in New York City. The event will aim to raise money to build schools with a cocktail hour, appetizers and a seated dinner, followed by a silent auction and a little musical entertainment.
