One Direction decided to wake you out of a dead sleep to release their latest single, "Drag me Down," but Jess Glynne, on the other hand, thought her newest track would better suit you over breakfast and coffee.

The frequent Clean Bandit feature, who put the finishing touches on her debut album last week, gave fans a taste of a new sound this morning with the release of "Why Me" via SoundCloud. While her most recent "Don't be so Hard on Yourself" is an upbeat, uplifting number, Glynne's now telling you off, in cool, slinky fashion.

"Everything was right and now it's gone / Like a tree, you cut me down, let me go / Like I was always banned from saying no," her commanding voice croons over a simple bass line, until production swells into a heavy, albeit pleasant chorus.

Glynne laments being forced to routinely jump through a relationship's hoops, and has finally decided that enough is enough. Still, while heartbreak isn't particularly easy for anyone to swallow (and she's got her fair share of experience in the matter), it's certainly a good look on the singer.

I Cry When I Laugh, Glynne's debut album, will be available for purchase on September 11 in the United States.
