Game of Thrones showrunners seemed finally to have gotten their wish that UFC fighter Conor McGregor would put in a cameo appearance, and we may yet have more proof. Not only are UFC heads confirming the part, but we also know that McGregor’s role left him speechless.

You’re warned of minor Season 7 spoilers from here on out, but both Watchers on the Wall and TMZ have independently confirmed that McGregor will indeed make a brief Season 7 appearance, the latter citing UFC president Dana White as saying “I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show, and I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great.”

Moreover, WotW claims that McGregor will appear in a non-speaking role (with good reason) alongside Pilou Asbæk’s Euron Greyjoy:

A WotW source tells us that Conor McGregor will be playing a pirate belonging to Euron Greyjoy’s crew, on the ship Silence. The part is a fairly small one, a cameo, so fans who are worried about his acting ability, don’t sweat it. There is no speaking involved with this part, and it’s definitely a short-term gig.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have previously guested on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, while McGregor has a connection to the Game of Thrones cast. Liam Cunningham trained for Season 7 with McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh, just as Mountain actor Hafthor Julius Bjornsson had earlier this year.

Game of Thrones Season 7 won’t arrive until summer 2017, but what other notable cameos might we see?
