Brace yourself, because now I feel like the urge to move to Scotland and celebrate this national animal everyday.

Scotland's national animal is the unicorn. You read that right. The unicorn, the mythical creature, is Scotland's national animal.

How can this happen, you might ask? I mean, America's is the bald eagle and how does a country like Scotland come to choose the unicorn? Well, there is a really great reason behind it. Scotland is all about myth and legends, and the unicorn symbolized innocence and purity and was even on the coat of arms by William I.  Even today the United Kingdom Coat of Arms features the British lion on the left and the Scottish unicorn on the right.
