What began as a single announcement has quickly spiraled into a war of printed words...in very small font.

Following Fifth Harmony's initial acknowledgement of Camila Cabello's decision to leave the group — as "informed via her representatives" — last night at midnight (Dec. 19), Camila responded with a note of her own later in the afternoon.

“I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true,” she wrote.

By midnight this evening, the group evidently got together and wrote up a (lengthy) retort — and no, they're not buying what Camila's selling. (Spice Girls-meets-Girls Aloud Twitter breakup flashbacks, anyone?)

"The last thing we want to do is engage in a battle of we said, she said, but we've let our story play out in press and on social media for too long," the new letter — once again signed by Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane — starts.

"Over the past several months we have consistently made every effort to sit down and discuss the future of Fifth Harmony with Camila. We have spent the past year and a half (since her initial solo endeavor) trying to communicate to her and her team all of the reasons why we felt Fifth Harmony deserved at least one more album of her time, given the success of this past year that we'd all worked so hard for...we even went as far as group counseling which she did now show up to," the group reveals.

"So no, after months of rejection from her and her team, these supposedly lengthy conversations in fact never happened, although we pleaded. We have tried with exhausted efforts and hearts to keep this group alive as the five of us, and we want it to be very clear that unfortunately those efforts were not mutual."

The remaining members of Fifth Harmony (H4RMONY? Fourth Harmony?) also reveal that they knew this was coming since last month: "In mid November we were informed via her manager that Camila was leaving the group. At that time we were informed that December 18th would be her final performance with Fifth Harmony."

Grab the popcorn and read the remaining members of Fifth Harmony's latest note below — that is, before one of the girls opens up their word processor and drafts another essay.
