Whitefish felt like a smaller Bozeman.

I like Whitefish a lot. It's a really great town and it feels quite a bit like Bozeman but not as big. I thought if you ever have the chance to go up to Whitefish here are a few places you should definitely check out.

Outdoors/Recreation

So this is pretty easy. It's extremely close to Glacier National Park, which is simply gorgeous. There is Whitefish Lake or you can drive twenty minutes to Flathead Lake(which is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi). If you are there in the winter, well you are a very, very short distance to Whitefish Mountain Resort(or Big Mountain to locals). Awesome mountain. Check out the excellent bar The Beirstube. Love that place.

Downtown

Their downtown is not huge but filled with fun. It seems like every weekend there is something going on. Whether it be Oktoberfest, a brewfest or music at several different bars. There is always something to do. I highly recommend going to the Craggy Range, Truby's, or even the Northern Bar. I also recommend checking out Piggy Back BBQ, it's delicious and you will want to keep coming back for more.

Breweries

There are only two breweries in Whitefish but both are quality and have fantastic beers. Bonsai Brewery is a little outside of downtown Whitefish on the way to Whitefish Mountain Resort and their beer is awesome. I recommend the Due North Imperial Red Ale or the Otter Slide. Also, the Great Northern Brewery is my jam and is a great place to have a beer before partying downtown. Nothing is better than Good Medicine in a pint glass and they always have fantastic rotating beers that you can't get anywhere else.

If you ever find yourself in Whitefish I hope this helps and have an awesome time.
